General Information, Guidelines, & Regulations

Ruby and Cecil D., settled in Skagit Valley about 18 years ago. Cecil was an active Alano Club member, for 17 years,
when he lived in Anchorage, Alaska. He experienced first hand the benefits such a club had on him, and other
members of the fellowship. With his undying commitment and experience, along with enthusiastic support and
encouragement from friends, the Triangle Alano Social Club is finally coming to life, our very own social club to share
together for meetings, and various other social events.
It has been Ruby’s, and my ambition to build a Community Social Club for people who wish to socialize in an alcohol,
drug, and smoke free environment. We would like our friends to have an opportunity to develop an interest in such a
club, and we welcome their active participation and support. Strong participation of our fellowship is critical to
sustaining a club of this type for the significant benefits it provides to our community. What we cannot do alone - we
can do together. The Triangle Alano Social Club is a private club funded by membership dues, rent from meetings,
coffee, a deli bar, and various social events.
The Triangle Alano Social Club (TASC) has been planned with spacious meeting rooms, a stage, a game room, gas
fireplaces, a coffee bar and deli. The facility will also be available for other events such as wedding receptions,
dinner theatre, and dances, exercise classes, pool and cribbage tournaments, karaoke, barbecues, yard sales and
other activities. Those who enter the doors will find a safe environment where friends and activities abound.
The long-term success of TASC and the benefits it will provide our fellowship depends on a large and active
membership. The board of directors encourages the membership to become actively involved, and voice their
suggestions about volunteer opportunities and ideas. For example, forming TASC committees to handle the planning
and implementation of such things as Donations, Entertainment and Fund Raising.
Donations to TASC are greatly appreciated, and will be used to purchase furniture and equipment. However,
donations to TASC will not afford the donor special privileges.
TASC membership will consist of a $10.00 Membership Registration fee, and a $15.00 Monthly Membership fee per
member - due on the first of each month.
These fees are not refundable. TASC will not generate Monthly Membership payment notices; therefore,
remembering to pay monthly dues - on the first of each month - is the total responsibility of the member. Members in
arrears after the 10th of the month will lose their Monthly Membership, and Membership Registration fee. However, a
person may sign up as a new member at any time by paying the $10.00 Membership Registration and $15.00
Monthly Membership fees. Membership will be on a month-to-month basis, with no honorary or lifetime memberships.
Either their parent, or another responsible adult must escort TASC members who are under 18 years of age.
The Triangle Alano Social Club, and the deli will be open to members daily from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Meeting
rooms will be open 15 minutes prior to meetings, and will close 15 minutes after meetings.
Rent for Twelve Step meetings will be 70% of the basket’s collection. Coffee at meetings is free, and literature for all
the meetings will be purchased by the club - and is also free. The Rent will be deposited in a secure Drop Safe at the
end of each meeting; thus, keeping rent and meeting support collections separate. New or small groups may have
meeting times and dates changed within the first 90 days to better facilitate larger established groups moving to the
club.
All events - other than Twelve Step meetings - will be charged on an individual TASC scale.
The Triangle Alano Social Club encourages responsible use of its facilities by establishing guidelines, as well as,
TASC support of government regulations designed to create a productive and positive atmosphere for members and
guests.
